Relieve Your Pain with a Soak

Relieve Your Pain with a Soak

My chiropractor once told me that if I wanted to relieve pain, then soak in a tub with 2 parts Epsom Salts to 1 part Baking Soda.  I never tried it until this past Winter when I ended up with tendonitis in my wrist and thumb.  Not such a good thing to have.  If you use your hands for your job like I do as a Massage Therapist then it’s really not good!  I soaked my forearm and hand every night for probably over a month.  The inflammation and pain was relieved enough for me to continue doing my job without much interference, and it also allowed me to stretch and exercise the affected joints to rehab them back.  I used a turkey roaster filled with enough warm water where I could lay my forearm and hand in it.  I dissolved 2/3 cup of Baking Soda and 1-1/3 cup Epsom Salts in the water.  I then laid my arm in the water and soaked for at least 20 minutes.  The baking soda was nothing special.  I just bought it at the grocery store.  I made sure the Epsom Salts that I bought was 100% Epsom Salts and it did not contain any other ingredients.  Give it a try.  I think you will be happy you did.
